The Trantham Family carries on a musical tradition spanning generations in Western North Carolina. An accomplished hammered dulcimer and banjo player, Doug Trantham grew up playing mountain music with his father, Jim Trantham, a local instrument builder and ballad singer. Doug and Amy Trantham's children Emily, Adam and Sara have performed with their father over the years.

The hammered dulcimers, mountain dulcimers and banjos heard on these recordings are hand made. You will occasionally see Doug Trantham at shows in and around Waynesville, NC, sometimes accompanied by Emily and Sara.
